‘Fantastic to see Twente Airport developing future plans where parking and limited aircraft maintenance have a place. The unique long runway and parking areas offer us long-term opportunities and potential that we are keen to capitalise on,’ said Direct Maintenance's general manager Jacco Klerk.

The company rents office and hangar space at Twente Airport and will start with part-time deployment of expert staff from its other branches. Depending on growth opportunities, more permanent staff will be employed at Twente Airport.

Frans de Vries, director of operations at Direct Maintenance, says: ‘The central geographical location and greenfield opportunities are valuable to us, as is the ease with which we can operate here. At regular airports, access is complex and registration procedures are time-consuming. At Twente Airport, we experience the efficiency and hospitality that our customers also appreciate, without sacrificing safety.’

The company is certified (EASA Part145) to perform maintenance on a wide range of aircraft types and aircraft parts, creating added value for the development of Twente Airport and Technology Base. Director Jan Schuring: ‘We are delighted that this international company endorses our potential and wants to contribute to it. Its arrival fits seamlessly into our development plans.’
