Ground moves Spottershill
Various works are currently taking place on our site, including the construction of aircraft parking spaces. These works release soil. This released soil is removed to the Spottershil, the site mentioned in the Soil Management Memorandum adopted by the City Council on 15 April 2013.
Enforcement request
The Lonnekerland foundation has requested the municipality of Enschede to take enforcement action against the realisation of the Spottershill because the construction would not take place according to legal requirements. The municipality of Enschede rejected this request on 4 June as the construction meets all requirements.
Questions have also been raised from the Enschede city council and the Overijssel provincial council about the land displacements. These questions were recently answered by the municipal council and the Overijssel provincial executive. These answers to the council and state questions, can be found on the website of the municipality of Enschede. The rejection of the enforcement request can be viewed here.
Nitrogen emissions
The Lonnekerland foundation fears that the work is causing unauthorised nitrogen emissions. This is not the case. The Technology Base project organisation has had an AERIUS calculation made of the nitrogen emissions from the works. The outcome is that the nitrogen emissions are nil and therefore have no effect on the nearby N2000 areas, so no Nature Conservation Act permit is needed either. The work specification for the calculation of this study can be viewed here.
