Twente Airport
Schiphol fire brigade trains with its new Crashtenders at Twente Airport. On our fully fenced-off site, 150 people will be retrained in driving the new Panther in six weeks.
The new model is 13.30 metres long and 3.20 metres wide, weighs 48 tonnes fully loaded and pulls up from standstill to 80 kilometres per hour in 23 seconds on eight huge wheels. Top speed is 140 kilometres per hour. It holds 13,000 litres of water, plus 1,600 litres of foam and over 250 kilos of powder. The water cannon on top releases 6,000 litres of water per minute, the cannon on the bumper 4,000. They can spray about 80 metres far.
