Testing new, quieter propellers

Last week, a TU Delft student team tested the new, quieter propellers of the Silverwing - a single-seater aircraft - in KVE Composites Group's shelter.
The two-day test evaluated propeller thrust output and other performance characteristics at different RPM and pitch angles. This verification and validation is an integral part of ensuring the Silverwing S1 is ready for flight.
The walls of the former F16 shelter are 70-120 cm thick concrete. Due to their origin function in the Cold War, our shelters have the characteristics of a bunker and provide the safe conditions the team from TU Delft needs for testing.
