Nijmegen is among the cities that have signed the Green Deal Zero Emission City Logistics. The cities involved aim for emission-free delivery in city centres by 2025. Mounted on the back of the bike is a closed box with a total loading space of 2.6 cubic metres. This fits exactly two standard PostNL roll containers, which can be easily loaded and unloaded using drive-up chutes.

The bikes have an electric power of about 1,000 watts, about 4 times the power of a normal, electric bike. That high power output and their robustness make them suitable for intensive business use. The bikes are 1 metre wide, have a maximum speed of 25 kilometres per hour and a range of about 70 kilometres. The bikes are equipped with various sensors and a communication system. This allows remote monitoring of the bike's technical condition and security and optimisation of routes. The transport bikes are approved by the National Road Transport Agency. No helmet or driving licence is required for the bike, and the bike can simply ride on the bike path.
