Through so-called roll-out tests, in which the car rolls out from a certain speed to standstill, factors such as air resistance, rolling resistance and electric motor consumption are identified. ‘For these tests, it is important that we have the space and can work undisturbed,’ says Reinoud Mulder, the team's technical manager. ‘There is no more suitable place than a runway for this kind of testing.’

The test went flawlessly for the team. The data collected will form a strong basis for all strategic choices to be made during their race in Morocco later this year. Solar Challenge Morocco will be run from 25 to 29 October, in which Solar Team Twente will compete against competitors from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, among others.
