Aeronamic establishes its product development division at Technology Base
Aeronamic B.V., based in Almelo, will establish its product development department at the Technology Base in Enschede in a former F16 shelter from August 2023. The lease was signed on 30 November for a period of 10 years. In the coming months, the F16 shelter will be converted into an office and test location for our innovative e-compressor developments.
Why Technology Base and Twente Airport?
Aeronamic in Almelo is growing and cannot expand any further. Moving our product development department to Technology Base gives us the opportunity to continue growing in Almelo in the coming years. Shelter B516 at Technology Base gives us the space to further develop our strong focus on the in-house development of high-speed e-compressors. This technology will be used in numerous applications for electric aircraft in the (near) future and will contribute to making the aviation industry more sustainable. Examples include air conditioning, cabin pressure control, electronics cooling, for which this ecompressor technology is the core solution. These new technologies use our ultra-high-speed designs, resulting in extremely lightweight components. The strong growth of Advanced Air Mobility in the coming years, accelerates the demand for electric systems based on e-compressors.
With also a two-hectare building plot option at Technology Base, Aeronamic has created an
opportunity to fully establish itself in Enschede in the medium term.
The possibilities of airport-related activity near Twente Airport, also located at Technology Base, are a perfect match for our company's ambitions.
Aviation must reinvent itself to be climate-neutral by 2050. This requires innovations in all aspects of aviation and calls for extensive experimentation, training and testing programmes.
Technology Base and Twente Airport act as incubators for sustainable aviation and new forms of mobility. Electric planes and flying taxis will still take off this decade, providing clean and quiet connections to the wider environment. This offers us the opportunity to further expand the product development department and contribute to the joint task of making aviation more sustainable and developing new forms of mobility.
