Twente Safety Campus is the meeting place for safety innovation and development. Fire brigades, police, emergency services such as the GHOR, education and industry work together with many partners there. Teams from various European countries are trained for large-scale disasters and leading, innovative safety concepts are developed in close cooperation with the University of Twente, Saxion and companies. 

As an industrial design firm, Dynteq helps other companies develop functional products with a technical challenge. Very early on, Dynteq saw the potential of Technology Base. They therefore developed their new premises together with the area managers.

JFD Global (formerly JFD Ortega) manufactures ‘Swimmer Delivery Vehicles’, which are designed with the aim of transporting divers quickly and comfortably. Divers are rather limited in their speed and range and can carry very few materials. The new generation dive boat reaches speeds of up to 15km/h above and below water and features large cargo spaces and a considerable range due to innovative battery applications. An important aspect of the design is that JFD Ortega uses the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality glasses. This makes the design of the submarines more visual and allows them to test the ergonomics before production.

Space53 brings together governments, knowledge institutions, aid providers and companies into drone innovation cluster and strengthens the ecosystem by creating the preconditions for successful development and application of unmanned systems.

Aircraft End-of-Life Solutions (AELS) disassembles aircraft from around the world. Parts are repaired and sold, the rest is recycled. With this sustainable solution, AELS contributes to the circular economy. When people talk about sustainability in aviation, it is often about emissions and noise, rarely about recycling. 

Twente Airport is part of Technology Base, which puts Europe and the rest of the world within easy reach for international businesses. Flying by private jet or a charter flight saves time and boosts effectiveness. But travel convenience is not the only benefit Twente Airport offers; the facilities and sheer expanse of space alongside the runway mean that Twente Airport is an excellent test site for companies on a quest for innovation. Moreover, it is a unique base for any aviation-related business.

The Royal Netherlands Aerospace Center (NLR) is based at Twente Airport to intensify cooperation and further develop the opportunities at Twente Airport as a test and innovation airport. Thanks to the establishment, Twente Airport has access to NLR's high-quality knowledge and expertise. Both parties see the opportunities offered by the transition in aviation for Twente Airport to contribute to sustainable aviation.

A supplier of innovative technology for professionals involved in various aspects of crisis management. RE-liON develops advanced training and mission preparation systems that are carefully designed for crisis-management specialists – people who risk their lives on a daily basis. The advanced, real-life training systems help professionals such as military personnel and fire fighters to work more safely and increase the likelihood of them returning home unharmed.

Reducing traffic noise, that is what 4Silence stands for. Sustainable noise reduction, innovative and sustainable solutions, scientifically underpinned and with proven results. Besides absorbing noise by means of quiet asphalt and blocking noise with a wall or screen, the whisstone of 4Silence is the latest worldwide innovation for deflecting noise. Several pilot projects at the Department of Public Works and various provinces now show that relevant noise reductions of more than three decibels can be realized with the whisstone.

TKH Airport Solutions provides groundbreaking total solutions for signalling, with a focus on light and induction technology. Its solutions will keep functioning perfectly even under the harshest of conditions, especially in safety-critical environments such as airports, tunnels, or offshore oil drilling plants.

Aeronamic's product development department is based at Technology Base. Moving their product development department to Technology Base gives them the opportunity to grow in Almelo in the coming years. The shelter gives Aeronamic the space to further develop their strong focus on the in-house development of high-speed e-compressors.

Mecal is an independent engineering company providing integrated OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product solutions on a global scale. Mecal operates with globally, with its headquarters and soon prototyping development site at Technology Base.

The former shelter B535 at Technology Base has been converted into a unique meeting, event and office location. Where the shelter previously served as accommodation for an F16, it has now been fully adapted to modern times and offers facilities for board meetings, training courses, events (up to 100 people) and office and flexi-work location.
