Testing and further development of new products

Mecal was looking for a suitable location for their headquarters where expansion was also possible to realise a test and development location at short notice, which they can set up completely according to their own wishes and requirements.

The new building location is intended for technologies designed from the fundamental research stage to actual application. Early prototypes of these technologies are produced in series consisting of an average of 5 to 10 pieces, which can be extensively tested. This fits perfectly with the Technology Base profile ‘Advanced Materials & Manufacturing and prototyping’: creating advanced materials by applying modern production techniques in small-scale production processes (‘smart factories’), for the development of new ‘smart’ components and systems.

Testing and further development of prototypes

For the testing and further development of these prototypes, Mecal needs a large open space where the test set-ups can be used, as well as the possibility to treat or process parts for the design and development of prototypes of specific sensors and actuators. There is also a desire to be able to easily adapt the open space to the different projects as well as testing, calibration and certification.

Technology Base provides the space for both a unique office location in the shelter and the new construction of a flexible prototyping, testing and development site directly behind the headquarters. By locating at Technology Base, they are part of an ecosystem of technology companies and knowledge institutions.
