RJ Safety & Security
RJ Safety & Security and their high-tech training centre are located at the Twente Safety Campus, part of Technology Base. Here, emergency response training is organised in a realistic and educational environment. To allow you to experience the intensity of a fire, we simulate a living room fire and stage a situation in which a person (dummy) is lying on the ground, burning, after a petrol pipe has caught fire.
Realistic fire training
Living room fire
To allow you to experience the intensity of a fire, we simulate a living room fire. This can vary from a small to a large fire. You learn how to act in such a situation (extinguish or evacuate) and how to handle the emergency further.
Person on fire
In this module, we will stage a situation in which a person (dummy) is lying on the ground, burning, after a petrol pipe has caught fire. The person has inhaled smoke and is unconscious. What do you put out first and do you go in to rescue the person, or are there other options? You will learn this in this module.
Small/medium kitchen fire
During this module you will experience various kitchen fires and learn the impact of a small or large kitchen fire. When do you extinguish and when do you close the door?
Find your way out
See what a fireman sees when he enters a house filled with smoke and fire: nothing! You must find your way by touch and you will notice how difficult it is to find your way back out. What's more, there is another victim inside who urgently needs your help. You will rescue the victim with a colleague in charge of emergency response.
Driving with your eyes covered
This communication/skills test centres on the ‘think-do-experience’ method. In this exercise, one participant is blindfolded. He or she drives a golf cart along a course. A second participant communicates from the golf cart with a third participant who is standing on the course. The person in the golf cart receives instructions via a walkie-talkie on how to drive through the course as efficiently as possible. There are markers on the course with tennis balls on them. The tennis balls must be collected. Easy? Experience it for yourself!
Nozzle Container Demonstration
During this demonstration you will see with your own eyes the violence of a rollover and a flashover; a large wall of flame coming at a firefighter.
Accident with a hazardous substance
During this module, we simulate an accident involving a hazardous substance. You will learn how to act in such a situation and how to ensure the safety of both the victim and yourself.
